Cookie Policy
SmartLiving uses WordPress and browser-based tools. This page describes the current implementation rather than a promise about services that have not been installed.
WordPress sessions
WordPress uses cookies for signed-in administrators and login functionality. Public article pages and calculators do not require a reader account. The calculators do not set cookies or save input amounts to browser storage.
Basic analytics and optional session analytics
Kstar, our self-hosted Plausible service, provides basic page statistics without analytics cookies. Automatic form-submission, outbound-link and download tracking are disabled.
Microsoft Clarity is optional. Its script loads only after you select “Allow session analytics.” Clarity can use analytics cookies such as _clck and _clsk for visitor and session information. Advertising-storage consent is denied. We apply strict text masking and exclude contact and calculator pages, internal search and ordinary signed-in sessions. Declining session analytics keeps Clarity blocked.
Remembering and changing your choice
The local-storage entry sl-session-analytics-v1 records your allow/decline choice and its date for up to 180 days. It does not contain calculator inputs or contact messages. Select “Privacy choices” at the bottom of the page to change the setting. Withdrawing permission ends the current page’s collector and reloads with Clarity blocked. A browser Global Privacy Control signal also prevents Clarity from loading. Clearing site storage removes the saved choice.
See the privacy policy for provider information. The articles and calculators remain usable when optional analytics is declined or blocked. No advertising integration is enabled.
Your browser controls
Your browser can show, block or clear stored website data. Blocking login cookies can prevent administrative sessions from working. External source websites have their own storage practices.
